ESP32 vs Raspberry Pi: Which Should You Choose?

M5Stack StickS3 ESP32-S3 High-Performance Compact IoT Development Kit

ESP32 boards and Raspberry Pi computers can both run projects, but they solve different problems.

Choose ESP32 for small devices

An ESP32 uses little power and starts quickly. It is a good choice for sensors, buttons, small screens, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi controls. It usually runs one focused program.

Choose Raspberry Pi for computer tasks

A Raspberry Pi runs a full operating system. It is better for web servers, larger programs, desktop use and projects that need many apps at once.

Simple rule

Some projects use both. An ESP32 can collect data while a Raspberry Pi stores and displays it.
