What Is Meshtastic and How Does It Work?

CLBRNS Cardputer Mesh Terminal

Meshtastic lets small radios send text messages without mobile service or Wi-Fi. It is useful for hiking, events, local groups and learning about radio networks.

How the mesh works

Each Meshtastic device is called a node. A node can send a message to another node nearby. Other nodes can pass the message along, so it may travel farther than one radio could reach alone.

What you need

Range depends on hills, buildings, antennas and where each node is placed. Higher, open spaces usually work better.

Use it safely

Meshtastic is not a replacement for emergency services. Do not share private details on public channels. Follow local radio rules and only use approved frequencies and power levels.

See the CLBRNS Cardputer Mesh Terminal, which gives you a screen, keyboard and LoRa radio in one small device.
